Movie Night / Housewarming Party!
October 10th, 2008
At 7pm on October 23rd, the Portland Food Co-op will be holding the first public event in our new home- the Meg Perry Center on Congress Street! Please join us to learn more about our work to create a storefront food co-op, and to see The Real Dirt on Farmer John, a documentary about a Illinois farmer who saved his family farm from bankruptcy by starting up a community supported agriculture system. We hope to see you there!

4th Annual MunjFest
September 4th, 2008
The Portland Food Co-op is scheduled to have a booth at this event and we encourage everyone to come out for a great day in Portland’s community.
The Munjoy Hill Community Policing Center and MHNO is pleased to present MunjFest, a day of food, fun, and frolic all in the name of building neighborhood spirit on the Hill. They are also partnering with the Greater Portland Landmarks to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Portland Observatory.
WHAT
MunjFest is an Arts and Cultural Family Festival. There will be plenty of space for free roaming, a kids’ activities area, food sales, art demos and the celebrity dunk tank. Local musicians will play all day and the famous Dog Talent Show (”Munjminster Dog Show”) will once again fill the winter with hilarious memories.

The Common Ground Fair September 19-21, 2008

The Portland Food Co-op will have a table in the Social Action tent during the Common Ground Fair. We need volunteers to help work the table, and we invite everyone to come ask questions and learn how to get involved.

The Portland Food Co-op Is Incorporated

On June 2008, the Portland Food Co-op became incorporated. The two-year journey to this moment was celebrated by the Steering Committee with a toast, and lots of smiles for hitting what is a historical landmark for this organization in our goal to open Portland’s next food co-op. [Read more →]

FoodNow! Buying Club Is Officially Part of the Portland Food Co-op

As you know, the Foodnow buying club began when the members of All Good Things buying club generously offered to open up their membership and work with the Portland Food Coop to make cooperative food buying available immediately, as a stage on the road to the eventual coop storefront.
