Committees of the Portland Food Co-op are the driving force behind the details of everything we do. Board and Member-Owners work together to find plan for the future, manage the space we meet and work in, plan events, update our website and other communication vehicles, accept new members and generally creating everything that the co-op needs to function and grow.
Member-owners are charged with working a monthly shift to order their food as a group, but this co-op would not be possible without the additional work of committees. The more people that are involved with committee work, the more minds and solutions we have at the table, and the more each individual can contribute the better.
All member-owners are urged to help drive the vision of the co-op by offering special skills and time. Sometimes as small as making copies, finding volunteers to work an event, or doing research to better understand a business function.
